MK Bruce Lee Issue #1 (Bruce edition, 2008) – Feat. Young Francois van Coke

R1,450.00

This is it. The original “Lucky Packet” issue that launched the cult magazine MK Bruce Lee.

Released in 2008 by the now-defunct music channel MK, this premiere issue was designed by The President (Peet Pienaar) and edited by Hunter Kennedy. It completely disrupted the local publishing landscape by rejecting the “glossy magazine” format in favor of a sealed paper packet filled with posters, stickers, and lo-fi art.

The cover features a rare childhood photo of rock icon Francois van Coke (aged 7). In good condition, this issue is a winner of a Silver Clio Award and widely considered Peet Pienaar’s masterpiece of “anti-design.” A museum-grade piece of South African rock and design history.
