Terms of Use
Welcome to Colophon. These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the Colophon website, archive, and online store. By browsing, accessing, or purchasing from our website, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree with any part of these Terms, please refrain from using our site.
1. General Conditions
We reserve the right to refuse service to anyone, for any reason, at any time. You understand that your content (excluding credit card information) may be transferred unencrypted and involve transmissions over various networks. Credit card information is always encrypted during transfer over networks.
2. The Archival Nature of Our Products
Colophon is a curated archive of rare, vintage, and independent publications. By purchasing from us, you acknowledge the following:
-
Most items in our collection are previously owned, vintage, or historic artifacts.
-
Natural wear, discoloration, or minor defects are inherent to the age and nature of these items and do not constitute a damaged or defective product.
-
We make every effort to describe and photograph the condition of our inventory accurately, but we cannot guarantee that your computer monitor’s display of any color or texture will be entirely accurate.
3. Pricing and Availability
Given the rare nature of our collection, the majority of our items are single copies.
-
Prices for our products are subject to change without notice.
-
We reserve the right at any time to modify or discontinue a product without notice.
-
Placing an item in your cart does not reserve it. An item is only secured once checkout and payment are successfully completed.
-
In the rare event of a system error resulting in an oversell of a unique item, we reserve the right to cancel the order and issue a full immediate refund.
4. User Accounts and Security
To enhance your experience, track orders, and expedite checkout, you may choose to register for a customer account. By creating an account, you agree to the following:
-
Accuracy: You must provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration and keep your account details updated.
-
Security: You are solely responsible for safeguarding your password and account credentials. You agree not to disclose your password to any third party.
-
Accountability: You are responsible for all activities and purchases that occur under your account, whether or not you have explicitly authorized them. Please notify us immediately if you suspect any unauthorized use of your account.
-
Termination: We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account at our sole discretion, without notice or liability, if we detect fraudulent activity, abuse of our systems, or a breach of these Terms.
