Description
A vital piece of South African literary history, published in Pretoria during the height of the Sestigers movement, Wurm was the definitive “little magazine” of the late 1960s underground scene.
Founded by Phil du Plessis, Wurm was notoriously anti-establishment, breaking away from the conservative norms of the time to feature experimental poetry, prose, and art. It was a multilingual platform (Afrikaans, English, Dutch/Flemish) that championed the avant-garde and fought against censorship.
This issue features a striking, period-specific Op-Art cover design in red and gold, typical of the psychedelic and experimental aesthetic of the late 60s. A scarce find for collectors of Africana, modern poetry, and design history. In fair condition, staples have been removed to prevent further decay.
